Financial Accounting 101 - Part 1 - Master The Basics!

Mastering the mechanics of Journal Entries, Posting, and Financial Statements, and diving into the topic of Assets

In this course we start from the ground level, with no assumptions of any prior accounting knowledge. We discuss the basic mechanics needed to get started, including the basic and expanded accounting equations, debit and credit entries for normal balances, journal entries, posting to the ledger, creating a trial balance, preparing adjusting entries, and preparing financial statements. Then, after we take care of the basics we dive deep into the various Asset accounts, including Cash, Accounts Receivables/Bad Debts, Inventory, and Fixed Assets/Depreciation.

In all of my courses we have study notes, video lectures, downloadable practice exercises, a video lecture walking through the practice exercise solution, quizzes, and a downloadable text covering all of the topics in the course. I also have an Instructor's Virtual Office for any questions you may have on the content.

If you enjoy Part 1 of the course, there is also a separate Part 2 course that picks up with the Liabilities and Equity Accounts (i.e. Stocks and Bonds.)

I hope to see you in the course!
